In this two-week intensive course, students explore open-source AI models in the fields of image, audio, speech, and video as design materials for experimental interfaces.
The key rule: No traditional chat interface. Students develop their own forms of interaction, such as via camera, voice, gestures, movement, or physical objects.

As a research associate and PhD candidate at TH Köln, she is part of the Memory Culture in Crisis research unit, specifically Research Unit III: Digital Cultural Memory. This unit examines AI as a crisis of standardisation.
She also teaches at design schools, including KISD and Bergische Universität Wuppertal. There, she views teaching as a collaborative, practice-based form of research.

“The Cloud is Loud and Hot” is an installation that combines an experimental short film in vertical portrait format with a sculptural form of presentation. The film traces a technological genealogy: from coal mining through data centres and clickwork to self-optimisation and the promise of artificial general intelligence.

Asked to interpret one square metre of earth, the group formed hand-polished dorodango, Japanese earth spheres. Picking up a sphere triggers a site-specific sound composition that makes the place, time and history of its soil audible.

Exhibited at City Leaks Festival, Cologne, as part of Acting in Public
Starting from two publications from 1967 and 1988, the work traces the industrial history of Cologne-Ehrenfeld. Adverts from more than 150 companies were compared with a photographic survey of their buildings today. Some businesses have vanished, some have moved, and some remain where they started. The full collection can be explored in an online VR archive.

How might creative collaboration between humans and machines look in the future? A series of animations generated with a GAN trained on Acid-Grafix album covers, translated into three-dimensional space.

An exploration of botanical and animalistic beings for a 360° dome. I rigged AI-generated hares and adapted Unity ML-Agents scripts to train their movements through deep reinforcement learning.
